Khancoban United Volunteers Association Incorporated (KUVA) is a not-for profit organization that supports the Khancoban community.
Vision:
Ensure Khancoban is a sustainable, prosperous community that enjoys a high quality of life, supported by a healthy environment and active civic engagement.
Mission:
We undertake activities that develop, support, and promote our community.
Undertakings:
To achieve our vision and pursue our mission, KUVA carries out the following:
Fund Raising:
- Operation of retail store ("Op-Shop")
- Apply for grants
- Run raffles
Communications:
- Support the publishing of a community newsletter (Khancoban Jottings)
- Organise community meetings with emergency services as needed (e.g. during bushfires) and with local industry
- Maintain and update community noticeboard
Activities:
- Promote and support our Community Garden
- Promote and support local sporting activities
Advocacy:
- Advocacy for the community with local, state and federal politicians
- Act as formal community liaison with local council and local industries
Events:
- Organise community events such as Christmas Party, Australia Day awards ceremony, community BBQs, the "Long Lunch", live music performances etc
Projects:
- Undertake community improvement projects (e.g. install sport and playground facilities, local tree planting, build nature walks, etc)
Promotions:
- Undertake tourism advocacy and promotional activities
Support:
- Provide informal support for vulnerable people in the community
