Invitation to Join the Snowy Valleys De-amalgamation Community Panel
Our region is entering an important next phase in the de‑amalgamation process, and we’re inviting community members to help shape the future of local government in the Snowy Valleys.
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for the new 20‑member De‑amalgamation Community Panel.
This panel will bring together local voices, lived experience, and diverse perspectives from across both the Northern and Southern areas of the region. Members will take part in forums, workshops, and briefing sessions, providing feedback on key matters such as service delivery priorities, financial sustainability, asset management, and community identity.
We’re looking for ten representatives from the northern area and ten from the southern area, reflecting the diversity of our community. Participation is for people 18+yrs and is voluntary, with an expected commitment of around six to eight sessions over the life of the project.
How can you support this phase?
We would greatly appreciate your help in one or both of the following ways:
- Consider submitting an Expression of Interest if you or someone within your organisation would be a strong representative voice for your sector or community.
- Share this opportunity with your staff, committee members, volunteers, or networks who may be interested in contributing. (I have attached a poster graphic for your use)
- EOIs close at 11:59pm on Sunday, 19 July 2026.
- More information and the EOI form can be found at: www.svc.nsw.gov.au/eoi
- Any questions can be directed to our Chief Transition Officer, Nicole Jenkins – njenkins@svc.nsw.gov.au
Your involvement, whether through direct participation or by helping spread the word, will ensure a broad and representative range of perspectives are included in this important community process.
Thank you for your continued commitment to the Snowy Valleys region.
